It took me some time to contemplate whether to incorporate the Anarres logo into this website. The reason behind this contemplation was its origin – it was originally crafted for Anarres V.T.O.L. Rec’n’Org in Zurich, an anarchist collective and underground record label inspired by the late Ursula Le Guin’s science fiction masterpiece, “The Dispossessed.” I proudly served as a member and co-founder of this collective. While it may seem like a small detail, the most unassuming of beginnings can often have a profound impact on one’s journey.
The talented Viola Zimmermann, a dear friend, is the creative genius behind the Anarres logo. I’d like to take this moment to express my enduring gratitude for her exceptional work.
In 1996, as a birthday gift, my then-girlfriend presented me with a tattoo gift certificate. The arrangement was simple: I would choose the design, and she would take care of the rest. Without hesitation, I opted to have the Anarres logo permanently inked on my upper arm. To this day, it remains my sole tattoo, a unique emblem I hold dear. Moreover, it serves as a poignant reminder of the remarkable moments I cherished during those times. That’s why I made the choice to feature it prominently on my website, a place of great significance to me.
